Fireworks 2025 FAQs

We get lots of questions about our fireworks, here is a list of the most frequently asked questions and answers:

REFUNDS:

We are a charity (not a business) and not for profit. We have a huge outlay to put the display on. For this reason we cannot offer refunds on tickets. If for any reason we have to cancel (ie covid, bad weather) we will of course offer you a refund or you can donate your ticket price to our charity funds. Thank you for your understanding.

PARKING?

Thanks to the owner of the Basildon Sporting Village and SS&C, we have 900ish spaces over both sites, first come first served (this will be signposted and marshals will show you the way) We aim to have this open at 4pm. There is limited disabled parking at the Basildon Sporting Village.

Pleas spark responsibly and obey any traffic/parking restrictions.

We are expecting a lot of cars and pedestrians in the immediate area before and after the event so please take care. It may be easier to park a little further away and walk in - no better way to get your steps up and keep fit!

Please car share where possible.

If you leave plenty of time for parking you’ll arrive stress free and will enjoy the evening a whole lot more.

WHAT TO BRING:

Although the weather is looking absolutely fabulous for Sunday, please wrap up warm, remember ear defenders for young children who may not like the loud bangs, wear suitable footwear (you are in a field in November) and definitely leave your designer clothing at home. What goes up must come down and sometimes a change in wind direction can cause stray ash to fall.

All well as a fully licensed bar, various hot food caterers on site, and a funfair for all ages, for the 5th year running we have sweet stalls, along with R&G Banquets with their range of cake bakes and treats and our friends at Xpresso will be selling their usual range of quality barista coffees and speciality teas, with some seasonal specials. There will also be a soft toy stall, a market stall, light up novelties, face painters and some charity stalls too - with side stall games for £1.

If any of these float your boat then bring some extra cash, or you can of course just come and enjoy Sonia & Ben, our hosts from BBC Essex, listen to music from the fantastic DJ Mat and get right up the front for the best view of the amazing Starburst fireworks with over £13,000 worth lighting up the sky!

WEATHER:

As far as we are concerned we are still full steam ahead for the display. At the moment the weather is looking perfect.
If anything changes we will post updates on our event/facebook page but we have never had to cancel any previous displays due to the weather. The weather is always kind to Basildon.

ENTERING and LEAVING :

We are expecting lots of people at our event and there are 2 entrances and exits. Please be patient on entering. We have to scan tickets and this takes time. Please be patient with our volunteers who are all giving their time up for free. We will do our best to get you into the venue as quickly as possible.

Please arrive early and AVOID arriving after 5.30pm as the gates will be extremely busy at this time – we need everyone through all the gates by 6pm - giving us 30 minutes to clear the area for the display. We have to CLOSE THE GATES by 6pm sharp to allow for the display to go up on time. We reserve the right to refuse entry after 6pm.

We expect the majority of people to leave at the same time after the display has ended. This will be a slow process because of the car park We will try our very best to keep you all flowing but we may have to use a stop/start system for everyone’s safety. Please bear with us. Our Marshalls will do their very best to keep footfall flowing, with a smile on their face. It may be best to have another drink, or a ride on the funfair and leave just a little bit later.
Overall, just be patient as safety is our paramount priority - and we want everyone to feel safe.

WHAT “NOT” TO BRING:

We want everyone to have a fantastic and fun time and there’s not a lot that’s banned really but for everyone’s health and safety we ask you do not bring fireworks, alcohol, drugs, weapons, sparklers, bikes, e-scooters, skate boards or scooters to the event. These will have to be confiscated at the gate. We have PLENTY of fireworks!
Also, please leave pets at home as no animals are allowed on site, for obvious reasons!
Thank you so much for your co-operation.
